INFORMing

HELLO THERE

This website is a catalogue of paintings, prints, and photos,  all completed within the last 4 years while studying at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

I am very influenced by flexible narratives, abstraction of reality and manipulation of scale and space.  Many of these ideas are found in my work, regardless of media.

I love to look at imagery from Latin America, especially paintings from the Ancient Aztec civilization.  I feel very engaged by the Aztec’s use of color, pattern, and general composition. Additionally, aesthetics of Indigenous American Indians that incorporate animals and nature equally compel me.

I also love delicate and bold line work; this naturally inspires me to examine works by artists like Albrecht Duhrer, Pablo Picasso, Jose Francisco Borges, Clare Rojas, Margaret Kilgallen, Julie Doucet, Art Spiegelman, R. Crumb, Charles Burns, Anders Nilsen, Chris Ware, Laylah Ali,  and Kara Walker.

Overall, I am constantly looking for beautiful things, executed with grace and attention to detail.
